All weekend, PNHS Adoptions will be showcasing our available animals, as well as providing information about our rescue and adoption program. Come meet our Adoptions Coordinator, Rachel, and ask about our scaly fosters! We’ll have case histories on display, and will be sharing anecdotes about some of our most intense rescues.
Once again, we've invited some of our favorite groups to participate in the ECRE.
While it's too early to confirm any guests, we'll have exotic veterinarians and other organizations related to conservation, rescue, and education.
Highlights from the 2010 ECRE included: python eggs hatching, “Gecko Hogwarts,” compare husbandry effects on Russian Tortoises, 3-D “Name That Reptile” Game, and many extremely sweet & extremely large snakes! ECRE 2011 hosted a "hold a tarantula" workshop for beginners, several demonstrations of feeding cockroaches to lizards, an alligator who could be petted, and Predators of the Heart's owl singing along with "hoot let the dogs out?".

PNHS can schedule Outreaches for anything from birthday parties and cub scout meetings, to school science nights and company picnics. To schedule an Outreach, contact our Outreach Coordinator, Dave. You can request an Outreach here.

Come see a vast array of live reptiles (and maybe a few amphibians) in our dedicated Outreach area! Coordinated once again by our very own Dave Alverson, the Outreach room is bound to have a large number of touchable animals for show-and-tell, and also some educational displays and habitat set-ups.
One of PNHS' foremost missions is community education about reptiles and amphibians in captivity: how to keep them safe and healthy, and how to find reliable information about proper care. Knowlegeable PNHS members will be on hand with their critters to explain about care requirements and personality quirks, and most animals at the ECRE will be handlable.

description from their website:
Predators of the Heart has been captivating and educating audiences since 1998. Our animal encounter show has been seen by small community groups to the largest festivals with 40,000 in attendance. Predators of the Heart has been a guest on numerous television programs. We’ve grown to become the largest traveling wildlife exhibitor in the Pacific Northwest. We are insured and licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture that ensures the safe keeping, proper care, and humane exhibition of our animals. On July 22, 2007 Washington State Legislators passed bill SB1418 that prohibits the private ownership of many animals that Predators of the Heart owned prior to its passage. Among them is our pack of wolves, cougar, bobcats, birds of prey, and reptile species. Therefore, this may be your last opportunity to see such magnificent animals in an up-close encounter.
